Neuro research peptides
Selank, Semax and DSIP for neuropeptide research, including GABAergic and BDNF gene-expression studies. Research use only.
Neuro research peptides are tool compounds used in laboratory studies of neuropeptide signaling. Selank is a synthetic analog of tuftsin, studied in rat frontal cortex for the expression of genes involved in GABAergic neurotransmission. Semax is an analog of the ACTH(4-10) fragment, studied for BDNF and trkB expression in the rat hippocampus and for gene expression in a rat model of focal brain ischemia. The category also lists DSIP. For research use only.
Questions
What are Selank and Semax analogs of?
Selank is a synthetic analog of tuftsin, the Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg fragment of the immunoglobulin G heavy chain, and Semax is an analog of the ACTH(4-10) fragment of adrenocorticotropin. In published rodent work, Selank changed the expression of genes involved in GABAergic neurotransmission in rat frontal cortex and of inflammation-related genes in mouse spleen, while Semax regulated BDNF and trkB expression in the rat hippocampus and changed the expression of immune and vascular genes in rat focal brain ischemia.
